I think this is my last post in this blog... It was really great time to learn about the collective intelligence. :-)
I've used Wikipedia once before, But I don't know how to do it well. Especially when I took 'Globalization' course, my editing was terrible...
As you see, I've got many warning messages... It was not easy for me... But now, I have a little confidence about editing Wikipedia. I learned a lot of things. Now, I could added the photo through Wikipedia Commons. And I could made a table. I could add a reference.
I think that Collective Intelligence is a puzzle that is made by everyone. We don't know the whole picture just seeing a piece of puzzle. Collective Intelligence have the same way. It won't complete just one's intelligence. It was needed by many people's knowledge and help. And that is what I did in this course.

W14. What did I learn in this course?
First,
I learned how to add references and how to cite information. It is important to
clarify original sources. It makes the information that I add more credible. I realized
the importance of citations and references.
Second, I could understand copyright a little
better than before. Honestly, I didn’t care about copyright when I just enjoyed
contents on the Internet. Copyright law can conflict with the principle of
Wikipedia, so it is careful to add information without free copyright license.
In
addition, I could know how collective intelligence works. I thought that
Wikipedia is perfect information source before this semester, but it is not
complete and forever. This is the aspect of collective intelligence. I think it
may not be finished.
Finally,
I learned about recent social movements. I found out free culture movement
through Wikipedia. The principle of Wikipedia and the way it works reflect the
current trends of culture and also show the future of culture.
This
course was so useful and interesting. I usually wanted to learn about
collective intelligence before, and this class was a great opportunity to study
about it.

W14. Can Wikipedia disappear?
As
we have learned in class, Wikipedia has the idea about ‘free knowledge for
everyone’. Most Wikipedians like this idea so they have enjoyed their edits.
But the principle that anyone can edit contents makes Wikipedia unreliable and
uninformative, and also this can lead to decrease of Wikipedia users. Editors
on Wikipedia actually have decreased for few years.
Wikipedia has own grammars and rules. They
make writing articles easier, but they also does not. It can be time-consuming
to make more constructive and better edits. Some information does not follow Wiki
grammars and rules, and they finally will be deleted by other wikipedians. It
is valuable to make many well-structured articles, but we have to spend a lot
of time on that. I am not sure that how many people are willing to invest their
time into trying to make better edits.
There are more problems about poor quality of
writing, vandalism, neutral point of view, and copyright law and so on. Some
people look these situations as a crisis of Wikipedia and I agree with that
opinion. However, I don’t think that Wikipedia disappears because it relates to
other social movements like free culture movement. I think these social
movements are natural trends. I cannot conclude that they are right or wrong,
but I think these trends will lead way of enjoying all contents. So Wikipedia
may not disappear but will change their methods of running easier and improve problems.

W13. Good Copy Bad Copy
I think good copy and bad copy not exist.
Just copy.
copyright is very important for owner.
but illegal copy is so many and my information is not mine.
so we need to protect that.
copy is bad thing, but sometimes we can get new idea thought someone's information.
so we have to use reference about information.
reference is very important to use information.
I think reference is etiquette.

W13. Good Copy Bad Copy
As you Know, I was absent from class last week. Because I was sick. So I couldn't watch this documentary, But I found the video at YOUTUBE.
(link is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEKl5I_Q044 HERE!)
My favorite music genre is Hip-hop music. So sometimes I saw some ugly plagiarism controversy.

like this case ☞ http://kpopdecoder.com/2013/11/06/caro-emerald-finally-spoke-full-text-delving-primarys-i-got-c-plagiarism-controversy/
This case was that A famous Korean producer aroused controversy about plagiarism.
I know that the boundary between plagiarism and sampling is very vague. But I've been shocked after this problem. I trusted his music wholeheartedly. All of his fans did that way ,too. But this case has seriously damaged the credibility of his discography. I still don't know it was plagiarism or sampling. But I have a bad feeling about his music.
I think Bad copy is come from producer's mind. If he stated clearly it was sampling. It would't be the problem.

W13. Good Copy Bad Copy
I was impressed with remix music in
Nigeria. They download music they want to use in remix. It can be piracy but
there is not copyright law. Watching the video, I thought they just enjoy music
without considering personal interest. But it is difficult for me to decide a
certain position about copyright law and free culture.
Free
culture has the good purpose that all people have a right to enjoy creativity
and contents. As the video showed, copyright can inhibit creativity and it has
protected for particular interests. However, I think paying for contents made
from others is also important. This can make contents more valuable and I show
respect to people who create them by paying for them. So I am not sure the
assertion that free is right, and I don't think that copyright law becomes
useless. I think the range of copyright law and the concept of culture will be
more expanded.
Current phenomena about enjoying contents
freely are seen as natural trends because all kinds of contents can be consumed
based on digital technology. All people who recreate contents with their own
creativity must be stopped according to current copyright law, but this will
not be stopped. So I think copyright law should think back about how it has
influenced creativity and culture, and it should seek for compromise plans with
free culture. Copyright law needs to be changed following recent culture trends.

Good copy bad copy
There are few sentences spoken in this video that I still remember and makes me think again.
"Who owns what?"
"What is the real purpose of property?"
It was so natural to think that things need to be owned and people need to pay when they use other's work. However, technology is getting developed, and the world is getting globalized. It's somehow impossible to clarify everything whether it someone's own work or not, and even if we can do so, I don't see any point there. Someone in the video said that 'freedom brings more vibrant economy' and I agree with that. This made me think of Wikipedia. If people don't have freedom and fun from it on Wikipedia, they are not gonna spend that much time there, or Wikipedia wouldn't be as this big.
The main thing is the way of earning money is getting changed. Singers used to sell their CDs to make profit, but now it's not a good way anymore. I think when we share things, we all can develop together.
